Aldar Properties, a leading real estate developer in the UAE, has announced a significant transformation of its hospitality portfolio.

Aldar Properties, the UAE’s leading real estate developer, has announced a major shift of its hospitality portfolio, bringing legendary hotel brands to Abu Dhabi for the first time. This massive AED 1.5 billion initiative seeks to establish the emirate as a leading international leisure and tourism destination.

One of the most noticeable improvements is the rebranding of the Eastern Mangroves hotel as a Waldorf Astoria premium resort. This redevelopment will include modifications to premium rooms and suites, improvements to the promenade and marina, and the addition of a new shop mix. The Waldorf Astoria brand is known for its luxury and great service, assuring guests an unforgettable experience.

In addition, the Yas Plaza Hotels will be redesigned under the IHG brand, making the six-hotel complex the world’s largest Vignette Collection resort. This redesign will include a private beach and freshly added beachfront accommodations, improving the overall guest experience. The desert resort in the Al Dhafra region, previously known as Tilal Liwa, will also join the Vignette Collection, providing a luxurious hideaway in the center of the desert.

Nurai Island, which is already known for its ultra-luxury offers, will undergo extensive renovations and additions. These renovations will strengthen the island’s position as Abu Dhabi’s first luxury island resort. Aldar is also planning phased improvements to its iconic hotels in Ras Al Khaimah, including the Rixos Bab Al Bahr and DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island.

This extensive overhaul underlines Aldar’s dedication to luxury hospitality and strategic growth plans. The project comes at a time when Abu Dhabi’s tourism is on the rise, with a 27% increase in hotel visitors expected in 2023, fueled by a 54% increase in foreign arrivals. The emirate aims to attract 39.3 million people annually by 2030, thanks to recent infrastructural improvements, including a new terminal at Zayed International Airport.

Aldar’s investment in its hospitality portfolio demonstrates its commitment to providing world-class experiences and promoting the UAE’s aim of becoming a worldwide tourism powerhouse. With these exciting initiatives, Abu Dhabi is ready to provide even more beautiful and unique experiences to visitors from all over the world.
