Al Reem Island

Development of Al Reem Island began in the early 2000s as a major mixed-use project led by multiple developers, including Aldar Properties (following its merger with Sorouh Real Estate), along with Reem Investments and Tamouh. Over time, the island has grown into a modern urban community featuring residential towers, commercial hubs, retail centers, and educational institutions. It is also one of Abu Dhabi’s first freehold zones, allowing foreign nationals to own property, which has contributed to its rapid growth and diverse population.

Today, Reem Island is a well-established waterfront destination located just 600 meters off the coast of Abu Dhabi and connected to the mainland by bridges. The island offers a balanced lifestyle with high-rise residences, parks, malls such as Reem Mall, and key attractions like Reem Central Park. It continues to see ongoing development, particularly in the residential and mixed-use sectors, supported by modern infrastructure and proximity to major business districts like Al Maryah Island.
